Yoohooo! It's me.

Hi. Remember me? Yeah, I'm still here. I still exist. Life has just gotten...well, life-y. And Life doesn't like it when I blog, apparently, so it's been an entire week since I've been able to click on the glorious "new post" button. Unfortunately, right now I am sitting around at school, waiting for my class that doesn't start for another hour and sixteen minutes. This means...no pictures.
Due to the life-y-ness of life, I also have been forced to prematurely abandon 30 for 30. Perhaps next year...
I have also recently become convinced that I am the most forgettable person in the entire world...perhaps more on this later.
This is becoming a very depressing-sounding post, so I shall talk about more exciting things...
Like me running for youth governor! There's this utterly fabulous program called Youth and Government (YAG) that is through the YMCA. Basically, we spend most of the school year learning about the legislative branch of government, how to write bills, parlimentary procedure, etc. Then, in May, students in this program from across the state all head on over to Olympia. The important government people have been kind enough to empty the capitol building for us, so we get to use the actual House and Senate chambers. We have a youth governor, secretary of state, etc. as well.  The next four days are spent debating and passing/failing new laws. We also hold elections for the next year's major offices.
This year, I decided to run for youth governor. That means if I win in Olympia this year, next year I will get to walk around on a cloud of prestige, give awesome speeches, and sign or veto laws. So, yeah, I'm pretty excited. My dear friend Jonathan and I wrote my campaign song on Wednesday. Look for my campaign page on facebook within the next week or so and you can watch it :P It's been stuck stuck stuck in my little head for the longest time.
I have a chemistry test today...possibly. Every class since the beginning of December, my teacher has said "next Friday is the test!" "There's a test next Friday!" But have you noticed the same thing I did? The calendar never says, "Well, good morning there. Today is next Friday." No! It says, "Hey there. It's Friday. THIS Friday." However, this test seems to be pretty much a certainty.
Today is also the day we get second semester's choir music! Hoorah! We're singing some really great songs this time; I'm pretty excited. :)
Now, I shall steal the idea of a dear friend of mine, and do a "How I Feel in 5 Pictures."

Okay, most of these probably make no sense to any of you. But oh, well. I'm going to head off now! Farewell.

Isn't "Frolic" the Most Fabulous Word?

Cardigan: The Limited
Dress: Thrifted
Tights: FredMeyer

Yeah, I'm basically in love with this dress. When I realized that my little undershirt/tanktop things didn't really count as items, I was able to add two more things to my 30. It didn't take long for me to pick this :) Oh, by the way, these are yesterday's pictures. Days 20 and 22 will remain picture-less, unfortunately.
Tomorrow is Mock Leg, AKA cheater-day. I have to dress in office-y clothes, and it really is very necessary that I wear a little black cardigan that didn't make it into my 30. (I'm not entirely sure why it didn't make it into the 30, as said cardigan is at the tippity-top of my wardrobe staples list.) Potentially expect bus pictures at the end of tomorrow or Sunday, though :)
I almost passed out in Chemistry class today! It was an interesting experience, and I must say my teacher over-reacted a bit. During lunch nobody really knew what to do with me, so I spent most of that time by my little self. Oh, well. C'est la vie.
Speaking of French, my only French homework from yesterday until next Thursday is making two fabulous little sock puppets for a presentation. Does it get any more wonderful or "me" than that? No, I don't believe it does.
Right now, my hair is in pigtails, I am wearing a striped beanie, and my nails are very. very. red. FYI. Oh, and did I mention that I have the best parents in the whole world? :)

The sun will come out...today? What's this?!?

Black shirt: WalMart
 Sweater: Thrifted
 Skirt:Thrifted

Today was sunny :) sun is good. But Washington sun in February is cold!!!!! These pictures may make it look like it was all happy and warm, but we were shivering. Mostly internally.
My outfit today was fabulously comfy, and this skirt is just perfect for swing-dancing. Unfortunately I haven't swing-danced since November (and that didn't really count), and have never been to a real swing dance :( Poor me. One day!!!
I was a substitute nanny today to my darling little two year old neighbor :) She's just the cutest thing ever!
Now I'm tired, and I have a bit of chemistry homework for tomorrow.
Oh! I also made chocolates :) They're yummy.

Ha. Ha. Ha. I'm strange.

Shirt: thrifted
 Skirt: thrifted
 Tights: Target
 Hat: Macy's

Do you like my ridiculously cheesy smile there? Yeah, I thought so. I could win awards in modeling.
Sorry for talking about my college class again, but I have had it with that ridiculous teacher. I turned in my essay on Friday (the day it was due) and I'm still waiting for the grade. Still. She also seems to make up her own writing rules without telling us.
Okay. I'm done complaining for today. Promise.
You know what I realized? I need a personal photographer...some really attractive dude to just follow me around for a few minutes every day, take pictures, and pick out the ones that look good. Wouldn't that be the best? hehe. Then there would be no more self-portrait disasters like these.
On a happier note, I went to Keola's today :) and I got to see Elias.
I'm also vice chairing at Mock Leg on Saturday. Yay :)

Someday is Now

Sweater: Thrifted
 Shirt: Target
Skirt: Thrifted

Cardi: The Limited
Shirt: Thrifted ♥
Scarf: I made it
 Belt: No idea
Jeans: Thrifted
Shoes: JCPenny

Here are days 14 and 15, just for you :)

Pineapple and Belts.

Shirt: Thrifted
 Belt: No idea!
 Skirt: Thrifted
 Shoes: Clarks

My camera has been found!
Right now, I am beyond thrilled that 30 for 30 has only 13 days to go...I kind of cheated today. My family and I went shopping at the thrift store today, and I am now the owner of ten or more beauteous "new" items. And I'm kind of excited to be able to wear all of my clothes again :) But I shall not give up, no sir! (or ma'am. I'll be politically correct here.)
Today has been good :) Thrift store treasure hunting, church, chai spice ;) adding garlic back into my diet, and now I'm eating pineapple and kiwi. Hooray for tropical fruit in winter!
I may or may not have some big (exciting!!!) news coming. We'll be in touch; I should know within a week or so :)
Today, I punched yet another hole into my already small belt. Should I be afraid?

My Camera is Somewhere...

Hello. This is what I wore today:
I know. I'm such a cheater. But comfy jeans and Aeropostale sweatshirts just sounded too lovely to resist.
Hey. I can't find my camera...so I had to use my abysmally lame webcam. After heavy, heavy editing, the picture you see above came to be. It's grainy, blah blah blah. Whatever. Today was not a dressing up kind of day. In fact, my hair has not been brushed since I washed it earlier, and there is mascara smudged under my eyes and streaming down my face.
This is what I wore for part of the day to stay true to 30 for 30:
Sweater: Thrifted
 Skirt: Thrifted
Today has been spent mostly sleeping, going on facebook, reading the Daybook, and cleaning my room. I have also been checking my online class frequently, anxiously awaiting my essay grade.
Fingers crossed.
...What is that even supposed to do, anyways?
Someday, I will take pictures for days 14 and 15 and put them up. Today is not someday.

Sunny, One so True, I ♥ You

Cardi: The Limited
 Shirt: WalMart
 Scarf: Old Navy
 Skirt: Thrifted
 Tights: Online
 Shoes: Converse Outlet

It's sunnnnnnny! Of course, this put in mind a song from last year's choir concert, "Sunny."
Today was a colorful day, full of bright purples and pinks and turquoises. I rather had a lot of fun with my outfit today, excepting one thing. I now have some advice to give to my darling dear readers. You ready? Okay, lean in a little closer. (whispers) Never, ever, ever wear thigh-high tights and a not-long skirt. Just...don't. It will not end well. These tights...well, they're thigh-highs. And they were rolling down my legs the entire day. Not the most comfortable thing. But they're just too fun to not wear once in a while :)
I am officially not in love with college. The teacher of my online class was not specific in her directions, so I followed what the textbook considered to be a "good essay outline." I got SEVENTY. PERCENT. because the teacher had her own "Academic Essay Outline Method" that was perfect and pristine. Um. My mascara is NOT on my eyelashes anymore, and my poor little pillow is all wet and black-looking now.
Tomorrow is the choir concert dress rehearsal! Who is ready for four hours of singing and working out the many, many kinks of a K-12 performance? I am! I can only imagine that there will be many, many pictures taken during the down-time portions of this.

A Most Peculiar Thing

Bolero: Fred Meyer
 Skirt/shirt: Thrifted
 Jeans: Thrifted
 Shoes: Converse outlet
Look closely at the first picture. Do you see my lovely earrings? Those are the ones I have been raving about all week. They are just too fabulous. I decided to be brave today and wear my little blue skirt as a little blue shirt dress! Unfortunately nobody really got to see it, because:
Some random strain of flu has caught me. It really is quite an amazing (and peculiar) little bugger...it makes the whole world spin and go black sometimes. But all my awe at it makes me want to throw up. I don't think we're compatible; I'll have to break the news soon. Maybe then I can go back to school. And get back into my daily blogging routine.

"Mr. Laurence! One doesn't shout at ladies as if they were cattle."

Sweater: Neighbor
 Scarf: Kaity
 Jeans: Thrifted
 Shoes: Clarks
 Earrings: Fossil

The next line of the film is Mr. Brooks shouting to the ladies, "My apologies!" Which is precisely what I would like to shout to all of you.
Um...you may have noticed I didn't post anything yesterday. There is good reason for it. I spent yesterday in sweats, mostly in bed or on the couch, wishing I were dead or asleep...either one would do. No matter where I was or what I was doing, my poor tummy felt sick sick sick; every time I stood up, I got really dizzy and my vision got black around the edges. Friday evening it went all black and I was forced to gracefully float to the floor (AKA fall) in the closest thing to a faint I hope to experience for a while.
So, yesterday will forever be a blank on the 30 for 30 charts :( I didn't count yesterday as a day, as that would be very much cheating. So, today is day 11. This outfit is my cozy-soft-and-movable-enough-to-play-with-babies-yet-nice-enough-for-church outfit. Sounds like a successful pairing, right? Wrong. The sanctuary ended up being suuuuuuuuuper warm, and as I was still not feeling well at all this morning, I had to leave the service to avoid passing out. But on the plus side, I got to take care of my absolute favorite baby in the whole world, Elias <3 He is the baby of my dear friend and mentor, Keola, and he was in the nursery today the hour I was working :)
The pictures don't capture the absolute loveliness of my earrings. My dear friend Allison got them for me for my birthday, and I simply adore them to death! I have worn them nearly every day since I received them. Perhaps tomorrow I will take a close-up.
Unfortunately I am not very good at making improv pot pie. The potatoes were not cooked through :(
Tomorrow is Monday...time for lots of homework and maybe crafting with Keola :)

"Tell the teacher we're surfin'..."

Shirt: Thrifted
 Scarf: Friend
 Jeans: Thrifted
 Cardi: The Limited
 Shoes: Clarks
 Socks!: Target
See my jeans? That's right. NOT the same jeans I picked for my 30 for 30. Don't fear, dear readers! I have switched them out for good reason! My other jeans were having...issues. You see, there is this wonderful gold design on the back pockets. Unfortunately, the design is made out of little thin wire coils embroidered on. And these wires like to stick to anything and everything, and uncoil when I pull away from that anything and everything. This results in random little gold wires sticking out of the butt of my jeans. Soooooooo attractive. Unfortunately, I haven't had enough time to remedy this issue yet, so I decided that these jeans would have to suffice for the time being. They are wonderful, and basically the same color as my other jeans.
These pictures were taken in the dark...forgive the quality. Am I the only blogger that doesn't own a professional camera?
Today was not a good day. Or rather...I did not enjoy today. I'm sure many many people in the world did. But I did not feel good today. At all. And my chemistry teacher has the WORST communication skills ever. So my homework wasn't done...because apparently "I will be sending out an email to all of you containing the homework; it will just be a page telling you the information you will need to know for the test on Friday (next class session, AKA today)" means "I'll put up the 6 long questions you need to write out the answers to on the school website that nobody checks."
But oh, well. She's also the most lenient teacher in the entire world, so it worked out all right.
Government was fun :) I got to Chair again. Choir was exhausting but fun, except I was kinda dizzy for show choir, and that led to a couple interesting moments. This morning I played the piano for elementary choir again, and I didn't fail! Can I hear a hallelujah??? Louder? Yeah! Thanks :) I did quite good compared to the last couple times, though I still have quite a bit of work to do.
I should probably eat dinner :\ Farewell, and have an excellent weekend, even if I don't know you! :D

It's a Sweater and Glasses Kind of Day...

"I'm kind of...leaning."

"You want a hug?" ;)
Sweater: Neighbor
 Skirt: Thrifted
 Leggings: Wal-mart
 Tank: Target
 Earrings: Fossil

Hello fair readers :) It's a rainy afternoon, and I have no homework for tomorrow.
Today started out tired, got better, then got worse...fast. I had walked to Subway with a couple of friends so that one of them could get lunch, and was considering buying some plain plain plain potato chips, when I realized...where was my wallet? It certainly was nowhere in my purse! When we got back to school, I checked my backpack. No wallet. That meant...oh, no. It was at home. For the first time in my life, I had illegally driven myself to school. My license was sitting in my wallet, on my bed, twelve miles away.
Calling home for this? Yeah, you guessed it. Super fun. My poor, excellent father gave up his lunch hour to drive it out to me. I feel awful. Needless to say, I will check every. single. time. I drive now.

The Cell Phone and the Swamp

Shirt: Thrifted
 Skirt: Thrifted
 Hat: Macy's

I've done it again! "It" being wearing all thrifted clothes except for one name-ish brand article.
Today was a fun day. It started out with choir, which was...fairly fun. Not terribly exciting. But pretty good :) Then came Chemistry class. Not. Fun. At. All. It just so happened that as I was eating lunch mostly by myself (except for a few people who came and went quite a bit), dear Moriah (who happened to be there for a moment at the moment) said, "Hannah, you know Jonathan is here, right? I had, in fact, not had any idea of this, for I had not seen my dear friend in two weeks, and as his texting was disconnected, hadn't talked to him in several days either.
So, I hunted him down, and then we ran into Olivia. The three of us ended up heading out to the field-y thing behind our school to take wonderful and random pictures. Here are some pictures of us being dorks!

Yeah. I am pretty convinced that we are the most amazing people in the world ;)
I recently discovered something: This boy actually drinks black coffee. When I found this out today, I shouted (in the lunchroom...) "I love you!!!!!!" And everyone looked most surprised. Everyone thinks I'm insane for drinking black coffee (before I was unable to have it) and I am verrrrrrrrry happy to have a black-coffee buddy.
And here is a picture of Olivia and me being awesome:

I must say, I am the more terrifying person in this picture. Olivia, I love your shirt. And you :)
While we were doing this photo shoot thing, Jonathan had my cell phone in his pocket, since I had no pockets but needed my phone in case my parents called me. Shortly after taking pictures in a swamp, he started feeling around in his pockets. But there was no Hannah's-cell-phone.
Images of having to call my parents and explain just how on earth I lost my cell phone flashed through my head. That would be...weird, to be sure. We rushed back to the swamp and found it sitting in the grass, covered in mud. Whew. I'm never letting him hold onto my cell phone for me again.
Right now, I am horribly confused about my English assignment. My teacher is not being very clear! GRRR! The assignment isn't due until midnight tonight, so hopefully she gets back to me in time so I can change anything I need to to make her happy.
:)

Ups and Downs

Bolero: Thrifted
Dress: Thrifted
 Tights: Freddy's
 Shoes: Clarks
Meet Lloyd. He's my truck :) Well...he's not actually mine. He belongs to my parents. But he is kind enough to chaperon me to and from school and all the many places a savvy woman such as myself needs to go. And he'll even do it until I can afford my own vehicle...which won't be for a while.
My darling friend Olivia took my pictures again today; aren't they fabulous? We went outside during lunch and had a goofy little photo shoot while I tried to figure out how to work her AMAZING camera.
Today's outfit is the result of I-don't-have-time-to-pick-a-really-interesting-outfit-syndrome. I'm not saying it's ugly, by any means. That is basically my favorite dress...ever. It just doesn't feel worthy of 30 for 30.
Guess what? I actually got all my math homework done. In class. And it isn't due until Thursday afternoon. Booyah! And I also worked ahead in French, so not only do I have no homework, but I might be very very unoccupied in class on Thursday as well.  So other than finishing up my essay analysis for college English, I have no homework for basically two days.
And God is amazing. Just sayin'. No matter how hard life gets, no matter how impossible everything seems, no matter how many times I stumble (throw myself on the ground seems to be a more fitting phrase), He's always there. And that...is incredible. Seriously. Today has not been an easy day, but look back up at those pictures. You see that smile? It's not forced. Now, I wasn't exactly very joyful the entire day...I was pretty lame for part of it! xD
Soooo, with that, I will leave you.

Piano

Cardi: My mom
 Skirt:Thrifted
 Scarf: Kaity

Hello blogger buddies! Today has been full of homework, homework, and did I mention homework? I had two sections in PreCalculus, preparations for a French test, FIFTY PAGES of English textbook to read (still not through with that one...), and a few other things I can't remember at the moment that I probably haven't even gotten to. I have devoted my most recent little block of time to taking pictures, etc. I only have a few more minutes before it's back to conquering the last 25 pages of English and doing my journal entry and analyzing the essay and saying my French words and remembering that I forgot to do PE today! BLARGH!
Okay, I'm fine now. Really, I am :) Time management just isn't one of my strong points, unfortunately. But, uh...I'm in college now. So I guess it will just have to become one of my strong points, won't it?
Some day, I will post lovely things on here about life and thrift shopping and preparing for Olympia, but I simply do not have time. Perhaps tomorrow?
I really should be getting off of the computer now...but I'm feeling quite lonely right now. So I will play some music...while reading English. Maybe just classical :)

A Drizzly Afternoon

Cardi: The Limited
 Cami/shirt: Kohl's
 Skirt: Thrifted
 Socks: No idea!
 Shoes: Clarks

Here it is! My wonderful daddy took these pictures for me :) I am particularly in love with the first one.
Today's outfit was purely put together for the benefit of you, my lovely five readers, as I would still be in pajama pants or sweats right now if it weren't for 30 for 30.
My darling dear Sarah got me this lovely mug. I love love love it! Now the kids in my French class won't berate me for drinking tea out of a mug that says "coffee" on it :) Right now, I am sipping some mint tea out of it.
What is the funny little brown thing, you ask? Why, that is a non-anti-Hannah mini chocolate cream pie! It is free of all my many many allergens, and has to be one of the best chocolatey things on the face of the earth despite being sugar and dairy (among other things) free.
Speaking of food, I've been craving potatoes all the time lately. It's ridiculous. On Wednesday night I had a choice: eat a baked potato at 10pm, or die of potato cravings. It was a lovely potato :)
It is now 4:09pm in my corner of the world. Just in case you were wondering.
GAH! I'm tired. Blogging and tiredness mix very well, yet horribly at the same time.
