The Intentional Frump

This morning I awoke to a great conundrum. It was my first day back at school after over a week of being sick. Was it a day to look polished and lovely? Certainly not! (I have a secret ability to look positively fabulous even when faced with the worst sorts of illnesses.) What was to be done? I simply had to dress it down a little today. Running around frantically, I finally stumbled upon something I deemed casual enough for such an occasion: jeans (bleck!), a tan (my worst color!) t-shirt covered in cartoony mushrooms, and a too-big hoodie. Perfection. 

Read the above paragraph this way: Today was my first day back at school after over a week of being sick. Bother with my personal appearance? I think not. I'm coughing my brains out and sniffling up a storm as it is...you honestly think people will care what colors I wear?

My teacher is clearly determined to NEVER grade my essay :(

No school tomorrow for me :) That means sleep.

PI? Where?

It's been positively forever, so here is my long long list of random snippets:

1.That's right, y'all, it's annual pi day :) 3-14.

2. Today I am submitting my course/instructor evaluation for my college class...thank goodness it's anonymous! 

3. One more week until I can drive other people!

4. This ridiculous cold/flu thing has been hanging on as long as possible, sucking the life out of me! Finally it's starting to go away :)

5. Coconut milk ice cream = love.

6. I officially canNOT wait to have my singing voice back!

7. Two and a half weeks until choir tryouts. Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :)

8. Men...urgh.

9. Goodwill is the BEST place ever!!!

Sorry for talking about my college class again, but I have had it with that ridiculous teacher. I turned in my essay on Friday (the day it was due) and I'm still waiting for the grade. Still. She also seems to make up her own writing rules without telling us.

Okay. I'm done complaining for today. Promise.

You know what I realized? I need a personal photographer...some really attractive dude to just follow me around for a few minutes every day, take pictures, and pick out the ones that look good. Wouldn't that be the best? hehe. Then there would be no more self-portrait disasters like these.

On a happier note, I went to Keola's today :) and I got to see Elias. 

I'm also vice chairing at Mock Leg on Saturday. Yay :)

It's sunnnnnnny! Of course, this put in mind a song from last year's choir concert, "Sunny."
Today was a colorful day, full of bright purples and pinks and turquoises. I rather had a lot of fun with my outfit today, excepting one thing. I now have some advice to give to my darling dear readers. You ready? Okay, lean in a little closer. (whispers) Never, ever, ever wear thigh-high tights and a not-long skirt. Just...don't. It will not end well. These tights...well, they're thigh-highs. And they were rolling down my legs the entire day. Not the most comfortable thing. But they're just too fun to not wear once in a while :)
I am officially not in love with college. The teacher of my online class was not specific in her directions, so I followed what the textbook considered to be a "good essay outline." I got SEVENTY. PERCENT. because the teacher had her own "Academic Essay Outline Method" that was perfect and pristine. Um. My mascara is NOT on my eyelashes anymore, and my poor little pillow is all wet and black-looking now.
Tomorrow is the choir concert dress rehearsal! Who is ready for four hours of singing and working out the many, many kinks of a K-12 performance? I am! I can only imagine that there will be many, many pictures taken during the down-time portions of this.

Hello blogger buddies! Today has been full of homework, homework, and did I mention homework? I had two sections in PreCalculus, preparations for a French test, FIFTY PAGES of English textbook to read (still not through with that one...), and a few other things I can't remember at the moment that I probably haven't even gotten to. I have devoted my most recent little block of time to taking pictures, etc. I only have a few more minutes before it's back to conquering the last 25 pages of English and doing my journal entry and analyzing the essay and saying my French words and remembering that I forgot to do PE today! BLARGH!

Okay, I'm fine now. Really, I am :) Time management just isn't one of my strong points, unfortunately. But, uh...I'm in college now. So I guess it will just have to become one of my strong points, won't it? 

Some day, I will post lovely things on here about life and thrift shopping and preparing for Olympia, but I simply do not have time. Perhaps tomorrow? 

I really should be getting off of the computer now...but I'm feeling quite lonely right now. So I will play some music...while reading English. Maybe just classical :)

Ramblings

Right now, I am sitting in my school's equivalent of a lunch room. This may be the only time today I have time to post, but unfortunately...there aren't any pictures yet! :O Perhaps over lunch Olivia will have a chance to take Day 3 pictures! But I'm not holding my breath for it. Alas, dear friends, you may have to wait until tomorrow. I'm even wearing the most impractical outfit for choir; it's lovely to do that sometimes :) Much to my surprise, I am not too bad at walking in abominably tall heels! Let's jump for joy! Or...maybe not. I haven't figured out how to jump in the things yet.

I suppose I should think of other things to talk about...I have to sit here for the next hour until my class, because my laptop bag is very cumbersome to carry around the school...so...

Oh! The daily shout-out. Who shall I recognize today? Well, I think I have to give it to Sydney from The Daybook :) She has inspired my blogger buddies and I to do 30 for 30, and we're all addicted to her blog.

Well, I need tea. And the cafe is too far away to leave my technology sitting on the table...so I must pack up. Most of my readers I will see sometime today :) And now I will end with something cheesy.
