YIKES! It's been a while...

Hello blogger-buddies :) I haven't posted in a ridiculously long time! You'd think that since I've been on spring break from college for over a week now, I'd have found some time to blog. But nooooo! It has quite escaped me for a number of reasons. Well, here I am again, and can't think of much to say that would be of interest to anyone!

This week and the beginning of next we have painters painting all the trim in our house. It's been quite an adventure of moving all our important stuff around each day to a non-plasticed-off part of the house, tripping around in a maze of paper, plastic, and tape, having the entire house covered in white dust and swarming with random worker men. They are gone for the weekend right now, though, and it's looking mighty fine so far :)

Choir tryouts were today :) For the first time in my history of trying out in choir, I went up to the front of the class and belted that solo with all my heart. It was the most fun thing ever!

Now it is time for me to be vague...

It's funny how I really think I want something, then it finally comes...and it's positively horrid and I don't know what to do with the situation! Perhaps it's a contentment issue...I don't know. All I know, is what I thought I wanted wasn't what I really wanted after all!

In other words, the lighting was about as horrid as it gets, and no other effect but pencil sketch would remotely save it...one day I will have outfit pictures for y'all, but it simply is impossible at this moment, as I have taken down my hair for the evening and it is all a-drizzle outside...and nobody can take my pictures. 

I'm afraid if I don't post this now, it will sit in my drafts folder forever just like the last post I tried to write last Thursday. Have a great weekend everybody!

Awkwardly Awesome

It's awkward and awesome Thursday!! W00t :)

-Awkward-
-Due to HSPE testing, this week I went from the oldest person in my French class to VERY MUCH the oldest person in French class. All the remotely-my-age students were off testing.
-Coughing constantly in a silent room during a math test...
-Getting bossed around by a freshman boy. Seriously...?
-When a creeper nearly 10 years older than me messages me on facebook, saying I showed up on his sidebar under "suggested people" and he thought I was hot...
-The kid who has been "stalking" (read: creeping on) me for almost a year has a girlfriend...which makes it even more awkward!
-Having to wear pants. If there were an "awful" section, this would go there. My mother has looked at my skirts, and we have decided it would simply be too cumbersome to make all my size 12 skirts fit my size 4 frame. Unfortunately, thrift stores have been no help whatsoever...perhaps I shall have to buy some new *shudder*
-Sending texts to the wrong person. Just kill me now.
-This strange story I have to interpret for English class...most peculiar! (Never mind, I'm not interpreting that one...but it's still weird!)

-Awesome-
-Choir day tomorrow! If only my voice was back...
-Three full days until I can drive my friends places!!!
-When the math test is worlds easier than the chapter
-Oranges :) And apples. And coconut ice cream :) YES, I do eat, for those of you crazies who think I don't. I even eat unhealthy food sometimes o.O
-Writing an interpretive story for English. NOT. AWESOME.
-I've already learned my piano piece for choir accompaniment! woohoo! :) Now to make it actually sound good.... :P

PI? Where?

It's been positively forever, so here is my long long list of random snippets:

1.That's right, y'all, it's annual pi day :) 3-14.

2. Today I am submitting my course/instructor evaluation for my college class...thank goodness it's anonymous! 

3. One more week until I can drive other people!

4. This ridiculous cold/flu thing has been hanging on as long as possible, sucking the life out of me! Finally it's starting to go away :)

5. Coconut milk ice cream = love.

6. I officially canNOT wait to have my singing voice back!

7. Two and a half weeks until choir tryouts. Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :)

Confessions and Choir

Hello dears. You remember me, right? Well, unfortunately, I've been busy and sick. These two do not combine well. So, between writing English papers and trying not to faint whenever I stand up, I simply have had no time to take outfit shots. But I promise I have been diligent in my 30 for 30! If I am up to it, tomorrow I shall dress up in my outfits from yesterday and today, and take catch-up pictures. Right now, it's time for...dun dun dunnnnnnnn...

It's sunnnnnnny! Of course, this put in mind a song from last year's choir concert, "Sunny."
Today was a colorful day, full of bright purples and pinks and turquoises. I rather had a lot of fun with my outfit today, excepting one thing. I now have some advice to give to my darling dear readers. You ready? Okay, lean in a little closer. (whispers) Never, ever, ever wear thigh-high tights and a not-long skirt. Just...don't. It will not end well. These tights...well, they're thigh-highs. And they were rolling down my legs the entire day. Not the most comfortable thing. But they're just too fun to not wear once in a while :)
I am officially not in love with college. The teacher of my online class was not specific in her directions, so I followed what the textbook considered to be a "good essay outline." I got SEVENTY. PERCENT. because the teacher had her own "Academic Essay Outline Method" that was perfect and pristine. Um. My mascara is NOT on my eyelashes anymore, and my poor little pillow is all wet and black-looking now.
Tomorrow is the choir concert dress rehearsal! Who is ready for four hours of singing and working out the many, many kinks of a K-12 performance? I am! I can only imagine that there will be many, many pictures taken during the down-time portions of this.

See my jeans? That's right. NOT the same jeans I picked for my 30 for 30. Don't fear, dear readers! I have switched them out for good reason! My other jeans were having...issues. You see, there is this wonderful gold design on the back pockets. Unfortunately, the design is made out of little thin wire coils embroidered on. And these wires like to stick to anything and everything, and uncoil when I pull away from that anything and everything. This results in random little gold wires sticking out of the butt of my jeans. Soooooooo attractive. Unfortunately, I haven't had enough time to remedy this issue yet, so I decided that these jeans would have to suffice for the time being. They are wonderful, and basically the same color as my other jeans.

Today was not a good day. Or rather...I did not enjoy today. I'm sure many many people in the world did. But I did not feel good today. At all. And my chemistry teacher has the WORST communication skills ever. So my homework wasn't done...because apparently "I will be sending out an email to all of you containing the homework; it will just be a page telling you the information you will need to know for the test on Friday (next class session, AKA today)" means "I'll put up the 6 long questions you need to write out the answers to on the school website that nobody checks."

But oh, well. She's also the most lenient teacher in the entire world, so it worked out all right. 

Government was fun :) I got to Chair again. Choir was exhausting but fun, except I was kinda dizzy for show choir, and that led to a couple interesting moments. This morning I played the piano for elementary choir again, and I didn't fail! Can I hear a hallelujah??? Louder? Yeah! Thanks :) I did quite good compared to the last couple times, though I still have quite a bit of work to do. 

I should probably eat dinner :\ Farewell, and have an excellent weekend, even if I don't know you! :D

Hello people! It's day two! Today I opted to wear jeans: not a terribly common occasion, if you know me very much at all. But how can you argue with fabulous jeans like that? These are the first jeans I've owned in ten years that I've liked the fit of. For starters, they aren't four sizes too big, so it's nice to not worry about them falling down (or off!) And, uh, the little number on the tag is pretty awesome too. Because it's just that. A little number! So, maybe jeans aren't such a bad thing :)

Today in French class, we were all standing up to leave, and mon ami from across the room yelled, "Hannah! You're wearing pants!" And everyone got the funniest looks on their faces! We then had to explain (since for some reason everyone in French is horribly unobservant) that I usually wear skirts, and rarely wear jeans. Tomorrow may shock and amaze people, for I think I am going to wear jeans again. Because it is quite uncomfortable to sit on choir risers in a skirt. 

Aren't my pictures fabulous? Olivia brought her magical camera today and we had a little photo-shoot. 

Now it's time for the first daily shout-out! Today's shout-out goes to my mother :) she has gone all out in looking for ways to make me feel better, and right now is reading a book about green smoothies. The lady who wrote the book is terrifyingly hippie-ish, and has a whole chapter about "Vibrational Nutrition" and even includes the Mega-Hertz of various foods! Yet my darling mother can overlook the scariness and press on anyway :) Also, she cleaned my gross bathroom for me today so my arm wouldn't act up. Isn't she a dear?

Raising a Glass to Awkwardness

Today was an exceedingly long day, full of MOPS, walking, chemistry, government, and choir. Lots of choir. Show choir especially. We learned the choreography to "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" today. Let's just say there are two words that best describe it: Confusing and Awkward. This is the most involved choreography we've done before, which is a nice change for sure! It feels so much more like an actual show choir now, although we only have two weeks to get our act together! Unfortunately for the non-social butterflies like me, there is a level of flirtatiousness involved in this choreography. I was already not feeling very good, and to have to be hanging on the shoulder of one of my guy acquaintances/friends (who is younger than me, no less) and passive-agressively fighting with my dear friend Sarah over him just made my day that much more awkward.
But wouldn't life be boring if it wasn't awkward once in a while? That's my thought for the day.
